Happy Summer!!

We’re back to give our fans and followers a long-awaited progress update. There’s some pretty amazing stuff we have been working on and we are so excited to share everything with you.

First off… Earth Cups!! You may have seen on social media that we launched a new product this Spring - Earth Cups (you can find them on our website & Amazon). We had been working on this behind the scenes for 10 months, and finally were able to make it a reality! Earth Cups are 100% plant-based, compostable and biodegradable cups. Our goal with these is simple: Stop Solo Cups. As college students, we are constantly surrounded by plastic red solo cups. We see them at parties, thrown on the ground, in trash bins, but very rarely are they actually recycled. In fact, only 8% of plastic waste gets recycled in the U.S. Even when they are recycled, solos still take 500 - 1000 years to break down. Earth Cups, on the other hand, turn into soil in 90 days. Not bad, right? 

Another new product has launched - EC bucket hats! We now offer customizable bucket hats on our website with 6 color options and 12 iron-on patches to choose from. 

We joined 1 percent for the planet, an international organization whose members commit to donating at least 1% of their annual sales to environmental causes. This opportunity allows us to join an alliance of businesses and organizations that are committed to improving and protecting the health of our planet. 

Our custom caps are quickly gaining popularity, and we have made over 200 custom orders in the past 3 months. In addition, we have begun selling our Earth Caps wholesale through a number of companies, including Faire and Choobs.

Earth Brands became climate-neutral certified for 2020! Our team has worked to measure all of the greenhouse gas emissions throughout our production processes, which we have offset with investments in carbon reduction and removal projects (like clean energy and reforestation). 

Through our partnership with Bondh E Shams, we have provided over 1,000 cups of clean water. And working with Make A Change World, we have been able to build 3 trash barriers in Indonesia. We are honored to have amazing partnerships with these organizations, as well as others, and see the impact of our donations.

This summer we have 12 amazing interns working with us. Having a slightly bigger team has allowed us to continue growing at an even quicker pace and work on a lot of new projects :)

We will soon be releasing our first-ever Eco-Friendly Earth Cap! Each hat will be made from 4 plastic recycled bottles and organic cotton. Our goal has always been to create a carbon-neutral product that reduces plastic waste, and now we have done it. We are hoping that eventually, we will be able to make all of our caps out of this recycled plastic blend, but for now, we are launching just one with a new turtle design :)

We have 4 more new caps coming out! Later this summer we will release more designs and will be partnering with new organizations, allowing us to tackle a wider range of environmental issues.

Our team is currently working on creating new beanies for next Winter. We will offer new designs, pom poms, and the beanies will be made out of recycled plastic bottles. As always, we are working to create the most sustainable products possible, while also taking into account the feedback of our valuable customers. By the end of this summer, we will have donated over $10,000 to charities. We are so glad to have the resources to donate this amount of money, but this is just the beginning for us. We cannot wait to continue growing so our philanthropic efforts can have an even larger impact on fighting the effects of climate change.
